Living with a Pig
WHAT IS REALLY NATURAL AND AS GOD INTENDED IT ?
Now that has probably caught your attention . It is an established medical fact that that those who live in the close proximity to farm animals ,in particular the pig , will have little or no allergies. In past decades(centuries) allergic reactions in western populations have been on the increase, as man has moved to more of a city ,urban life rather than a country ,rural life. I am told it is our bodies immune system NOT recognising natural things around us ,having not been exposed to them naturally in the environment , actually fighting them ,that being, allergic to them . Living with ,or perhaps more precisely , near a pig or cow naturally causes our immune system to not class such things as : hair, dusts , etc as something to fight against. Now the word natural is something which has been on my mind when I think about why it is that certain foods cause many to have an allergic reaction to them . Here not talking of allergic reactions to hair , or wool but to what seems to be natural foods . I will explain . As we know many are allergic to gluten ,yes that natural ingredient of wheat and grains in general , so why should this be ? Well it is an established fact that over the decades the level of gluten has risen in our grains . Why is this ? Well as plant breeders have tried to get ever increasing yields , combined with ever increasing use of artificial Nitrogen (made from using oil ) then the amount of gluten has gone up in the grains . So really we are not having a natural product but one that has been tampered with and so leaving many intolerant to such high gluten levels .Such individuals are called celiac.
Linked to this is the 3 fold increase in the past 3 decades of individuals to yeast intolerance .Now why should this be ? Well again tampering . Bakers under pressure to get their bread to rise quicker, in our fast moving societies have increased their use of yeast in bread 3 times over past 3 decades so giving a direct correlation with the 3 fold increase of cases of yeast intolerance.
Then we have related to the immune system, the vitamin deficiency in the population of a good many in the west, of vitamin D. Exposure to sunlight enables humans to produce this naturally yet as more and more work NOT done out in the open air but in factories and offices, this has become a major problem . A problem in that the lack of it in a population experts believe, is having an affect on the immune system, so in fact leading to our bodies not being able fight disease properly. This so much so that the health authority have proposed it being added to bread in the UK as a supplement .
Then there is the interesting case of humans and milk . As developing children we need the extra calcium within milk for healthy bones (as do all mammals) and yes it is right that we still need calcium in adult life . Lactose intolerance (that is the name for the sugar in milk ) has become a real problem in western societies too . Milk is seen as the norm for the majority of people in the UK but this was not always the case . So how did others get their calcium in the past if not having access to this often luxurious milk source ? Well interestingly up until the 1940’s/50’s, from water cress . Large estates grew hundreds, if not thousands of acres of water cress , and yet then this faded out , as the people demanded milk . Water cress was often called ‘the poor man’s breakfast.’ Incidentally water cress also contains more vitamin C than oranges ! Here is a thought : In the UK and many parts of the world we can not grow oranges yet we can water cress, but we instead have all but given up on water cress and become dependant on citrus fruits. In order to supply for the UK population’s desire for milk , to make the massive input of feed justifiable /economic then the dairy cow has to produce more milk than she can really physiologically deal with . The increase in udder from selective breeding has not seen a correlation with the cows ability to properly support the udder .Even the Holstein Frisian ,being a big bony animal with a larger frame than say the British Frisian, can have feet problems (as hooves splay outwards under weight ) and do not properly wear away evenly as hooves can be at an angle . Milk as a treat not as a necessity or need I would say is needed and a lot more food in season so as not to have to add to the carbon foot print with importing foods ,when our ancestors found the needed ingredients in that which grows naturally .
In closing there is the problem with sugar . We all are used to sugar in the whole world yet as developing countries, have a so called better diet, this usually involves more sugar . Where there was very little problems with diabetics in say India or China, there is now increasing levels of diabetes. In many parts of the world ,certainly UK , we have only fairly recently become even exposed to it . Through sugar beet we produce over 50% of the UK’s sugar yet every one having this type of sugar could not be said to be natural . Sugars from honey more natural and yet now so many of our foods have sugar in it(added) and this having a direct relation to individuals becoming too fat and then problems with developing diabetes and all kinds of problems with strokes etc etc . Interesting how we can wrongfully use what God has given to us naturally and actually harm ourselves .
